In just a few decades, pierre.dk Autolakering A/S has become the biggest and most modern auto painting company in Europe.
The company was founded in 1985 by Pierre Legarth – auto painting expert and entrepreneur – who thus achieved his dream, setting up Pierre Autolak in a large garage in Vamdrup, Denmark, at the age of 19.
However, Pierre Legarth had plans for the future and ambitions of developing a chain – and he was quick to define his goal: his company was to deliver ‘the highest quality on the market – on time!’, backed by a strategy of tightly managed growth.
In 1998, pierre.dk was named a ‘gazelle company’ for the first time by the respected Danish newspaper Børsen, and subsequently received a string of commercial awards and marks of recognition.
In 2005, the company invested DKK 50 million in the biggest and most modern painting facility in Europe, located centrally in Kolding, Denmark.
In 2010, Pierre Legarth sold 75% of the shares in pierre.dk A/S to the capital fund LD Invest Equity, now called Maj Invest Equity. However, founder Pierre Legarth remains Group President and CEO of pierre.dk A/S.
